το ΛΑΘΡΕΜΠΟΡΙΟ ΑΓΡΙΑΣ ΖΩΗΣ συνδέεται με ξέπλυμα χρήματος, δολοφονίες, δωροδοκία και πλαστά διαβατήρια

30-3-12  ΓΑΛΛΙΑ, ο Bernd Rossbach, υπεύθυνος αστυνομικών υπηρεσιών της ΙΝΤΕΡΠΟΛ δήλωσε ότι το περιβαλλοντικό έγκλημα έχει γίνει «μια μορφή σοβαρού, οργανωμένου και συχνά διεθνικού εγκλήματος».

το περιβαλλοντικό έγκλημα  συνδέεται με άλλες μορφές οργανωμένου εγκλήματος, οι ίδιες διαδρομές που χρησιμοποιούνται για το λαθρεμπόριο άγριας ζωής, χρησιμοποιούνται επίσης για το λαθρεμπόριο όπλων, ναρκωτικών και το τράφικινγκ. Το λαθρεμπόριο άγριας ζωής γίνεται ταυτόχρονα   με το ξέπλυμα χρήματος, τη δωροδοκία, ενώ συνδέεται άμεσα (occurs hand in hand with other offenses) με γιάφκες πλαστών διαβατηρίων και δολοφονίες.
Αυτά δηλώθηκαν από το βήμα συνεδρίου που πραγματοποιήθηκε στη Λιόν για το περιβαλλοντικό έγκλημα - από τη λαθροθηρία ελεφάντων για τους χαυλιόδοντές τους έως την παράνομη υλοτομία- Lyon, France 27-29 March 2012,    υπό την αιγίδα της Ιντερπόλ και του Περιβαλλοντικού Προγράμματος των Ηνωμένων Εθνών (UNEP) και παρουσία 230  αντιπροσώπων 70 χωρών
First Global Effort to Fight Environmental Crime Takes Shape LYON, France, March 30, 2012 (ENS) - For the first time, heads of environmental, biodiversity and natural resources agencies from across the world have met with heads of law enforcement agencies to craft a global compliance and enforcement strategy for environmental security.
Convened this week by Interpol and the United Nations Environment Programme, the International Chiefs of Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Summit drew some 230 delegates from 70 countries to Interpol headquarters in Lyon.
Bernd Rossbach, Interpol's acting executive director of Police Services, said evidence that environmental crime is connected to other forms of serious and organized crime is increasing. "Interpol has helped to ensure that environment crime has become more mainstream and recognized for what it is, a form of serious, organized and often transnational crime," said Rossbach.
The international police force says the same routes used to smuggle wildlife across countries and continents are often used to smuggle weapons, drugs and people. Environmental crime often occurs hand in hand with other offenses such as passport fraud, corruption, money laundering and murder.
