Ο 35χρονος Singrai Soren έριχνε πιεστικά έναν κόκορα στην αρένα για κοκορομαχίες. Το δύστυχο πτηνό είχε ήδη νικήσει στον πρώτο αγώνα, θανάτωσε τον αντίπαλό του αλλά τραυματίστηκε θανάσιμα και το ίδιο. Στις κοκορομαχίες συνήθως δίνουν διάλειμμα μιας ώρας πριν ρίξουν ξανά στην αρένα τα πτηνά. Αλλά ο Singrai Soren, λίγα μόνο λεπτά μετά την πρώτη μάχη, έριξε ξανά στην αρένα τον κόκορα που φτερούγιζε απελπισμένα και προσπαθούσε να ξεφύγει.
Τότε ο κόκορας με το λεπίδι ξυραφιού που ήταν δεμένο στο πόδι του, επιτέθηκε στον "ιδιοκτήτη του" και του έκοψε τη φλέβα στο λαιμό. Ο Singrai Soren πέθανε από αιμορραγία.

A cockfighting rooster appears to have taken deadly revenge on its trainer for forcing it back into the ring too soon.
The bird is said to have attacked owner Singrai Soren and slit his throat with razor blades he had attached to its legs.
Villagers in Mohanpur, West Bengal, were warned not to approach what police described as ‘an unknown rooster with black and red feathers’.

A wounded fox shot its would be killer in Belarus by pulling the trigger on the hunter's gun as the pair scuffled after the man tried to finish the animal off with the butt of the rifle, media said on Thursday.
The unnamed hunter, who had approached the fox after wounding it from a distance, was in hospital with a leg wound, while the fox made its escape, media said, citing prosecutors from the Grodno region.
"The animal fiercely resisted and in the struggle accidentally pulled the trigger with its paw," one prosecutor was quoted as saying.
Fox-hunting is popular in the picturesque farming region of northwestern Belarus which borders Poland.

Like all the other roosters, Chesney arrived with all the feathers having been shaved from his stomach and all the way down his legs. He delicate skin was burned red from the razor. His once crowning glory, his comb, had ruthlessly been cut off by his owners. No anesthetics are ever used — usually a knife is sufficient to slice the comb off. This is all part of the preparation for a rooster to fight. The feathers are shaved because it’s a blood sport — they can get to each others vital organs much easier this way. The combs are cut off so they get less blood in their eyes because a comb will bleed a great deal when cut open with a sharp claw.

Το θύμα, από τις Φιλιππίνες, είχε τοποθετήσει ξυράφια στα πόδια του πτηνού για την "μονομαχία θανάτου". Λίγο πριν πετάξει τον κόκορα στη αρένα το πτηνό του ξέφυγε από τα χέρια και του επιτέθηκε. Τα ξυράφια που ήταν τοποθετημένα στα πόδια του κόκορα έκοψαν το θύμα στα γεννητικά όργανα και στα πόδια προκαλώντας ακατάσχετη αιμορραγία. Σύμφωνα με την αστυνομία το θύμα πέθανε κατά τη μεταφορά του στο νοσοκομείο Zamboanga που βρίσκεται 530 μίλια νότια της Μανίλας.

The Cincinnati Enquirer ^ ZAMBOANGA, Philippines (AP) -- A rooster about to be set loose for a bout in a crowded cockfighting arena attacked its handler with the razor-sharp steel spikes strapped to its legs, killing the stunned man, police said Tuesday.
The gaffs hit the man's thigh and groin as the bird made one rapid shuffle, causing him to bleed profusely Sunday before a large crowd of shocked spectators, police investigator Johnny Muhajil said.
