ΚΥΝΗΓΟΙ στην ΑΥΣΤΡΙΑ, στήνουν παράνομες wild cameras σε δάση

12-6-12  ΑΥΣΤΡΙΑ, η κυνηγετική οργάνωση της Καρινθίας (Carinthian Hunting Society) κάνει παράνομη ηλεκτρονική παρακολούθηση σε   δασικές περιοχές, με κρυφές κάμερες υπέρυθρης ακτινοβολίας για να παρακολουθήσει τους πληθυσμούς αγρίων ζώων όπως το κόκκινο ελάφι και οι αγριόχοιροι (the western European red deer or wild boar),

Αφορμή για την αποκάλυψη της παρακολούθησης, ήταν η καταγραφή σε βίντεο, της ερωτικής συνεύρεσης ενός πολιτικού προσώπου –το όνομά του δεν αποκαλύφθηκε- που έγινε μέσα στο δάσος. Ο πολιτικός έχει δικαίωμα να ζητήσει αποζημίωση περίπου 25.000 δολαρίων, για παραβίαση του κοινωνικού του δικαιώματος και παρενόχληση της ιδιωτικής του ζωής. 14-6-12  Al Fresco in Austria

εκτιμάται πως υπάρχουν τουλάχιστον 8.000 κάμερες που καλύπτονται με καμουφλάζ,  για την παρακολούθηση της άγριας πανίδας (βιότοπους και σίτιση) από κυνηγούς.

In den Kärntner Wäldern hängen nach ORF-Informationen rund 8000 unbemannte und gut getarnte "Wildkameras".
Die Wildkamera (für rund 200 Euro beim Jagdzubehörspezialisten zu haben) besorgt das automatisch bei Tag und bei Nacht (dann mit Infrarot-Aufhellung und ohne Blitz).

Σύμφωνα με όσα δήλωσε στο ORF, o Hans Zeger, πρόεδρος της Argen Daten, για την προστασία προσωπικών δεδομένων (an NGO specialising in data protection),  για να εγκατασταθεί κάμερα παρακολούθησης σε δημόσιο χώρο απαιτείται άδεια αλλά και τοποθέτηση πινακίδας ώστε οι επισκέπτες να ενημερώνονται για την παρακολούθησή τους και να προσαρμόζουν ανάλογα τη συμπεριφορά τους.
Speaking to the local service of Austrian public broadcaster ORF on Monday, Hans Zeger, head of ARGE Daten, a non-governmental organization focusing on data protection, criticised the forest surveillance, saying that the automatic cameras pose a threat to individuals' privacy rights. The cameras should "at least be marked with signs," so that forest visitors can "adjust their behavior and avoid the monitored areas," he said.
But the Carinthian cameras are inconspicuous by design. Mounted on trees deep in the forest, they allow hunters to observe animals in their natural habitats and feeding grounds. The cameras are sophisticated pieces of technology equipped with motion sensors and infrared capabilities, which allow them to capture footage of light-footed creatures in the night. They clearly have no trouble detecting humans in the undergrowth, either.
