Στο αγρόκτημα «Rogachyovo Farm »που βρίσκεται έξω από τη Μόσχα γίνεται ένα πείραμα με 10 αγελάδες. Είναι διαπιστωμένο ότι η χαλαρωτική μουσική επιδρά θετικά στα ζώα και αυξάνεται η παραγωγή γάλακτος. Τώρα ο Ρώσος κτηνοτρόφος του αγροκτήματος αποφάσισε να εγκαταστήσει 6 μεγάλες TFT τηλεοράσεις (plasma screens) για 10 αγελάδες. Οι οθόνες των τηλεοράσεων δείχνουν 24 ώρες την ημέρα, καταπράσινους αλπικούς βοσκότοπους και ποτάμια, οι εικόνες αυτές βοηθούν τις αγελάδες να ηρεμούν και να παράγουν περισσότερο γάλα.
Οι αγελάδες που βλέπουν τα καταπράσινα τοπία στις οθόνες, χαλαρώνουν και παράγουν κατά μέσο όρο 3 λίτρα περισσότερο γάλα κάθε μέρα από τις αγελάδες που δεν βρίσκονται μπροστά σε τηλεόραση.
Πρόκειται για πείραμα διάρκειας ενός μήνα. Σε ένα χρόνο το κέρδος από την αύξηση παραγωγής γάλακτος, θα καλύψει τα έξοδα για την εγκατάσταση αυτής της επένδυσης αναφέρει ο Mikhail Korshunov γενικός διευθυντής της Rogachyovo Farm,

A farmer in the Moscow region has installed several sophisticated TV sets in his barn, hoping to make his cows happier and more productive. The TV audiences in Russia these days are getting larger – and wilder. A farm outside Moscow shows its animals alpine pastures on TV to see if they produce more milk. “There have been experiments when cows listened to music, but this has never been done with video images,” project head manager Konstantin Labzin told RT. “We show the cows pictures of green alpine pastures because they are the most beautiful, and the grass there has the best taste. Alpine cows give the best milk.”
The farm installed 6 plasma screens for a month-long experiment with 10 cows watching the film and another 10 not. Surprisingly enough, since the experiment began cows that are watching TV have been producing on average 3 liters more milk every day than cows that are not watching TV. Veterinarians say the secret of this bovine technology is just a matter of relaxing the cows so that they were in the right mood for milking.
“We’ve only been conducting this experiment for a month so we haven’t paid off the investment yet. But if we did it for a year or more, we would recover all the investment,” the director general of the Rogachyovo Farm, Mikhail Korshunov, told RT.

Τις ημέρες που παίχτηκε αργή μουσική, οι ερευνητές διαπίστωσαν 3% αύξηση στη παραγωγή. Cows produce more milk when they hear slow tunes by Beethoven and REM. A music technology company fitted out dairy enclosures with sound equipment, so that psychologists Adrian North and Liam MacKenzie from the University of Leicester could serenade a thousand cattle with music for 12 hours a day for nine weeks. Slow music was defined as having a tempo of less than 100 beats per minute, while fast music had more than 120 beats per minute. The Holstein Friesians produced more milk when played music with a slow tempo than if they listened to no music at all. Fast music only suppressed yields. On average, each cow produced 0.73 litres more milk per day to tunes such as Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony.
