Η αστυνομία στο Βορρά του Μεξικού συνέλαβε 8 άτομα, που κατηγορούνται ότι ανήκουν σε θρησκεία, οι ιερείς της οποίας πραγματοποιούσαν τελετουργικές ανθρωποθυσίες, μεταδίδει το BBC.Οι εισαγγελείς δηλώνουν ότι από τα χέρια των υποτιθέμενων ιερέων της λατρείας σκοτώθηκαν δύο δεκάχρονα αγόρια και μία γυναίκα. Οι Αρχές της μεξικανικής πολιτείας Σονόρα εκτιμούν ότι οι ύποπτοι ενδέχεται να ανήκουν στην αίρεση «Σάντα Μουέρτε» (ιερός θάνατος).Κατά τον επίσημο εκπρόσωπο της πολιτείας, το αίμα των θυμάτων περιχύθηκε γύρω από το ιερό, που κατασκευάστηκε για τη λατρεία της «θεότητας», που ήταν ένας σκελετός με δρεπάνι στο χέρι.

31-3- 2012 Mexico arrests over La Santa Muerte cult killings

Police in northern Mexico have arrested eight people in connection with the killing of two 10-year-old boys and a woman in ritual sacrifices.

Prosecutors in the state of Sonora allege the suspects belong to the cult of La Santa Muerte, or Holy Death.
A spokesman said the victims' blood appeared to have been poured round an altar to the idol, which is portrayed as a skeleton holding a scythe.
Investigations were launched after the family of 10-year-old Jesus Octavio Martinez Yanez reported him missing early this month.
Mr Larrinaga said the murders took place at a ritual during the night, lit by candles.
"They sliced open the victims' veins and, while they were still alive, they waited for them to bleed to death and collected the blood in a container," he said.

She is called Santa Muerte or "Holy Death" and has become the saint of choice for Mexican outlaws engaged in illegal activity.
A federal marshal says shrines to the skeletal "Holy Death" are a growing presence, not just along the U.S.-Mexico border but throughout the United States.
Such images have become so commonplace that candles are sold in Laredo supermarkets. The candles show the dark, robed figure standing behind a police officer.
