ΚΡΕΑΣ ΑΛΟΓΩΝ ΡΟΥΜΑΝΙΑΣ στα πιάτα της ΕΕ?

Η έρευνα για το διεθνές διατροφικό σκάνδαλο με κρέας αλόγου να πωλείται γα βοδινό, συνεχίζεται.

Εγκληματικές  συμμορίες (Mobsters) στην Ιταλία και την Πολωνία  εμπορεύονται παράνομα  το κρέας αλόγου

Ρωσικές συμμορίες και εγκληματίες με δράση στα κράτη της Βαλτικής -Εσθονία, Λετονία και Λιθουανία -  είναι επίσης ύποπτοι για συμμετοχή.

Η Ιταλία είναι ο μεγαλύτερος καταναλωτής κρέατος αλόγου της Ευρώπης και η Πολωνία εξάγει περίπου 25.000 άλογα  που προορίζονται για σφαγή κάθε χρόνο, έτσι στήνεται μεγάλη  επιχείρηση στις δύο αυτές χώρες

Η Γαλλική εταιρεία Comigel  παραλαμβάνει το επικίνδυνο κρέας από το εργοστάσιο κρεάτων Spanghero, που βρίσκεται στη νοτιοδυτική Γαλλία.

Στην εταιρεία  Spanghero πουλήθηκε κρέας αλόγου από τη Ρουμανία.

Ερευνάται το ενδεχόμενο να σφάζονται άγρια άλογα στη Ρουμανία και το κρέας τους να προσφέρεται ως βοδινό στη Βρετανία.

Οι συμμορίες ασκούν πίεση και εκφοβισμό σε κτηνιάτρους, εργαζόμενους στα σφαγεία και υπαλλήλους σε εγκαταστάσεις παραγωγής τροφίμων για να υπογράψουν ότι παραλαμβάνουν ως βοδινό το κρέας από φθηνά κομμάτια χοιρινού και από άλογα.

Τα άλογα σφαγιάζονται με τρομακτική σκληρότητα και διαπιστώθηκε απάνθρωπη κακομεταχείριση  και ξυλοδαρμός με λοστούς

Ερευνητές αποκάλυψαν ρεκόρ πωλήσεων και κακομεταχείριση κλεμμένων αλόγων στο δρόμο τους για το σφαγείο.

Σε μια περίπτωση, πάνω από 50 άλογα βρέθηκαν μέσα σε ένα φορτηγό στο δρόμο για ένα σφαγείο στο Saint Gheorghe, που εξάγει κρέας. Όταν βρέθηκαν, τέσσερα άλογα είχαν πεθάνει, άλλα ήταν ημιθανή, είχαν τραύματα από λοστούς και στερούνταν τροφή και νερό για 28 ώρες.

Θεωρείται ότι  παγιδεύτηκαν στο  δάσος Letea, στο δέλτα του Δούναβη, όπου χιλιάδες άγρια άλογα περιπλανώνται.

Ωστόσο ο ρουμάνος πρωθυπουργός Victor Ponta αρνήθηκε εξοργισμένα τις κατηγορίες για τα χώρα του.    Δήλωσε πως η Spanghero ουδέποτε είχε απευθείας σχέση με Ρουμάνικες εταιρείες και κάλεσε την ΕΕ να βρει τους αληθινούς εμπλεκόμενους.

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta angrily denied his country was to blame.

"Romania cannot accept to be the usual suspect," he told reporters. "I am very angry, to be very honest."

"We have made verifications ... There exists no violation of European rules and standards" by the two abattoirs, he said, while his agriculture minister insisted there had been no false labelling of meat.

Ponta said Spanghero did not have a direct contract with Romanian firms and he called on European Union officials to find out where the fraud originated and who are the guilty parties.

Investigators in the eastern European country have been searching sales records following the revelations that the stolen animals were mistreated on their way to abattoirs.

In one case, more than 50 horses were found inside a truck on its way to an abattoir in Saint Gheorghe, which is understood to have exported meat.
Four of the animals were dead and others were barely alive, having been beaten with crowbars and starved of food and water for 28 hours.

They are thought to have been caught from the Letea Forest in the Danube Delta, where thousands of wild horses roam.

A source close to the investigation told The Sun: 'The meat from this racket would almost certainly have been sent abroad and there's no telling where it would have wound up.

Horsemeat scandal spreads as French retailers pull foods

The scandal has had particular resonance in Britain, where eating horsemeat is considered taboo. British authorities have also said they are testing to see whether the horsemeat contains a veterinary drug that can be dangerous to humans.

The Findus meals were assembled by Comigel using meat that was provided by Spanghero, a meat-processing company also based in France. Comigel supplies products to companies in 16 European countries.

Spanghero in turn is said to have obtained the meat from Romania via a Cypriot dealer who had subcontracted the deal to a trader in The Netherlands.
