οι Ιταλοί –οι μεγαλύτεροι λάτρεις του καφέ στον κόσμο- πίνουν τον καφέ τους στο σπίτι, για οικονομία.  Μάλιστα επιλέγουν καφετιέρες  moka pots για μεγαλύτερη οικονομία.

Ιδιοκτήτες καταστημάτων και μπαρ μάταια μειώνουν τις τιμές του καφέ, για να κρατήσουν την πελατεία τους
Ο Fausto D'Andrea ιδιοκτήτης μπαρ στο Μιλάνο δήλωσε πως ο εσπρέσσο προσφέρεται αντί € 0,80 για ένα φλιτζάνι, στο κατάστημά του.

­Italians, who are among the biggest coffee drinkers in the world, seem to be changing their habits and traditions. The debt stricken nation has begun to slow consumption, including that of their beloved beverage.
­With the credit crisis taking hold and disposable incomes lessening, Italians now prefer to take their coffee at home rather than head to a café, Reuters reports
